Thank you for selecting Original Artworks by mi. The following provides information regarding commissioned artwork as well as rates for portrait commissions.

Portraits last more than a life time. They help to hold on to memories and family. Portraits can be created through live sittings or photographs. Send us your best shot [photograph] and we'll turn it into a work of art. Portraits can be of children, young adults, adults, elders and pets. Group portraits are welcome. Media: Oil, acrylic, soft pastels, charcoal, or pencil. Rates for portraits are provided below. Unless noted otherwise, rates are based on 16” x 20” unmated/unframed and one subject (person/pet) per portrait. Additional sizes are available and may be required depending on the source used to capture the portrait.

Still life drawings and paintings can be created using actual items, photographed objects or a mix of the two (no samples available for viewing at this time). Sizes can vary. Media: Oil, acrylic, and soft pastels.

Abstracts are a creation of either your own ideas and/or subject matter or the artist. Creations can consist of any shapes, colors, figures or designs desired. Sizes vary. Media: Oil, acrylic, pastels and other materials.

We now offer two methods of payment. For certain commissions (currently portraits), Original Artworks by mi uses an online payment system that safely accepts payments by credit card, debit card, bank transfer, as well as PayPal. This payment option is also available to purchase limited-edition prints directly through Original Artworks by mi. Feel free to shop for limited-edition prints currently available. Quatities are limited.

Or you can elect to pay by invoice sent directly to your email address which is also a quick and secure way to pay by credit card, bank, or via PayPal upon receipt. This payment method requires only an email address to receive your invoice. Once the invoice is received you simply need to "click and pay".

Rates for still life and absracts vary and are based on size, media selection (e.g., oil, acrylic, pastel, etc.), complexity of the subject, framed, or un-framed. Payment plans can be arranged in advance. For specifics contact us. If applicable, photography expenses, framing, sales tax, shipping costs, and travel expenses may be additional.

Photographs and/or other objects used by the artist will be returned upon completion of all artwork. For best results, select a clear photograph(s), the better the quality and focus, the more details in the portrait. Submitting several photographs are helpful for reference. Photographs can be sent by e-mail in JPEG format. People and/or pets from other photographs can be combined in one portrait. For portraits of your pet(s), please select a photograph that best represents your pet's personality. Extra photographs can serve as reference for the pet's eyes and coat.

Live sittings for portraits are available for adults as well as young adults. If a live portrait is desired, please allow time for at least three meetings. During the meetings, we will discuss the overall theme, media, and size desired for your portrait. Sketches and/or photographs will be completed for reference.

If you would like a portrait done for a special date (e.g. anniversary, birthday) or holiday, please allow 8 weeks advance notice.
